Barbados Is Such Great Value
If you are looking for paradise in the eastern Caribbean, Barbados is a great value, and will fill all your desires. The weather is almost always sunny and warm, with an average daytime temperature between 84″88 degrees Fahrenheit, even in summer. It is usually dry from January to June, with the big rains coming from June to October. They are usually quick cloudbursts followed by sunshine.
Barbados has it all, no matter what you are looking for; be it a relaxing chill-out vacation to recharge those batteries, or an action adventure playground for that busy, ‘pack it all in’ type of holiday. There is a fantastic spread of things to see and do. The island is steeped in history and culture from its colonial days to modern times, and as one of the top vacation destinations in the world, the standard of living is as high as expected. Bars, clubs, restaurants, and lots of physical activities; you’ll have to plan you itinerary very carefully to try and pack in as much as you can. Now that’s what we call a nice problem to have!
Before you choose your Barbados deal, you need to decide what you are looking for in a vacation. The west coast has the harbor, beach resorts, villas and luxury hotels surrounded by lush gardens and secluded coves. A perfect spot for a tranquil, relaxing holiday. You will find windswept beaches and big waves on the Atlantic side of the island, not many hotels, and some casual beach houses. Most of the surfing events, however, are on the southeast coast. The largest selection of inns, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment can be found on the south coast of Barbados.
In terms of getting out and about in Barbados, the public transport system (busses and taxis), is safe, convenient, and inexpensive. They do drive on the left hand side of the road however, (a throwback to the old British colonial heritage ‘ Queen Elizabeth is still the head of state), so any hire cars will be right hand drive, but hiring is cheap and the supply of cars plentiful.
Think warm tropical climate when you pack. All you need are shorts, t-shirts, bathing suits and wraps, or a sundress for daytime. Dressy casual is perfect for dining out and entertainment. Swimwear belongs only on the beach. You will find the local people relaxed, practical, disciplined, and pleasant.
Barbados cuisine is to die for. You can get some superb native Bajan dishes in the authentic local ‘Bajan Houses’, plus a great range of bistros and restaurants that serve dishes from all over the world. You can eat amidst some of the most stunning scenery you could possibly imagine. The local fresh water is clean and safe to drink. Just picture your self now, eating outside a cool restaurant, eating a fresh spicy Marlin steak, listening to the sounds of a steel band and watching your fellow holiday makers dancing the night away, as the sun sinks slowly into an azure blue ocean. Superb!
