Mexico has 1000’s of acres of Coastline along the pacific coast , reaching all the way from Guatemala up to the northwestern Border near California. The majority of the Coast was largely small fishing villages until about 1925, because a newly-built road had brought many tourists.

Many Fancy hotels popped up in Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco, and both became world famous in the 60’s when Richard Burton and Liz Taylor made a flick called Night of the Iguana and purchased a resort by the water .

The Government of Mexico pushed (quite heavily), the promotion of building resorts and hotels around the middle of the seventies . They called the area of land between Puerto and Manzanillo ‘Costa de Oro’ meaning ‘Gold Coast’ . The whole coast , also known as the Mexican Riviera (To the Cruise Industry in the USA) is well known for it’s stunning scenery of golden beaches, jungle flora and picturesque cliffs
