New York Has A Lot To Offer

Aug-25-2010 By Bob McMaster

The dream became reality in the summer time of 1996 as I stayed in New York for a week after working at a summer time camp in Maine. Two of my buddies also stated let’s Journey to New York and jumped on a plane from London Heathrow to JFK to join me within the big apple.

Seeking back, we could have planned the trip much better as there is a lot to see in New York but we managed to catch an Ice Hockey Game at Madison Square Gardens, watched the Yankees win at Baseball, as well as appear on the national TV Show!

We have been hanging close to Times Square when 1 of the staff from your Montel Williams programme offered us totally free tickets for the afternoon show, so two guys from the UK along with a Londoner sat inside the audience while the normal story unfolded on stage with married couples up to no good.

So, fresh from our Montel Williams experience we then went on to go to the famous NBC studio tour in New York where we also managed to grab free briefs for the Conan O’Brien show ! It was a decent show with some bloke from LA Law as the primary guest.

Staying in NY could have been better planned as our very first two nights have been spent staying in the dodgy hotel near Times Square, believe it was known as the St James and was only twenty five bucks !

Back in 1996 the world wide web was just emerging but you can now book many New York hotels online from the comfort of your own residence.

I also advise staying in a New York youth hostel. I stayed in the couple of youth hostels inside the Chelsea region which was great, one of them even had a free beer night wherever you could meet up with individuals from all around the globe!

Would I journey to New York once again? Yes, there is certainly a lot to find out and do apart from the typical tourist attractions. I would plan your trip to New York well in advance and buy a excellent guidebook while also being certain you’ve lots of dollars with you as it’s not the cheapest location!
